Writer's Workbench Problem with Tables and Organization and Development

Note: this problem was fixed in versions Writer's Workbench Release 8.18 and later.  If you have a problem with tables while using WWB 8.18 or later, please let us know by sending an e-mail message to wwbsupport@emo.com .

The (1.1) Organization and Development analysis is designed to make it easy for the writer to read his or her first and last sentence in the composition and verify that those sentences frame paragraphs appropriately.

Unfortunately, when the (1.1) Organization and Development analyses uses Word's "find the end of a sentence routine" in a cell in a table, the computer never exits the cell and Word hangs.

When this problem occurs, do <Alt>-<Ctrl>-<Del>, go to Task Manager, then the Processes tab, and End Process for WINWORD.EXE.

In addition, you will probably want to remove Word's temporary file in the same directory as your composition.  If the filename of your composition were named composition.doc, the name of Word's temporary file would be ~$composition.doc .

This problem will be fixed in the next release of Writer's Workbench but for now, do not analyze documents that contain tables.

RESOLUTION:  DO NOT ANALYZE COMPOSITIONS WITH TABLES FOR
(1.1) ORGANIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT.
